How to transfer your form to a new Google account

Updated over 7 months ago

We receive many messages from customers who used the wrong Google account to initially set up a form, and want to change which user is the owner / manager of the form.

The active user account that clicks "Make This Form Payable" becomes locked to the Google Form as the only account that can then manage the add-on installed on the form. Google products with an add-on installed may only be managed by the installer account - this is a limitation of Google, and not Payable.

How to Transfer a Form

Copying an existing form is very easy πŸ‘!

Step 1 - Make a Copy

  • Click the ellipsis icon in the Google toolbar > Make a copy

  • Update the title of the copy to differentiate the old and new forms

Step 2 - Share the Form with the New User

Add the new Google user as a Collaborator on the form.

Step 3 - Log In Only as the New User in Your Browser

In Google Chrome perform the following steps:

  1. File Menu -> New Incognito Window

  2. In this new window go to forms.google.com and login only with the new User you wish to use.

  3. Go the Add-On listing page here. Make sure the add-on is installed for this new user. The button will show "Uninstall" if the add-on is already installed.

  4. Now simply go back to the new copy of the Google Form, and go through the 3 setup steps again as if the form was new. (Add-Ons puzzle piece > Payable Forms > Make This Form Payable to initiate setup).
